COVID-19 continues to have a huge impact on our daily lives. With the ongoing challenges posed by COVID-19, teaching at the Centre for Adult Learning and Professional Development will remain largely online during the first semester. Only core, experiential components such as courses which include teaching practice or laboratory sessions will have an on-site presence in semester 1. This decision has been made to ensure the safety of students and staff and our desire to continue to provide the highest quality, upskilling and professional development opportunities for our students.

During semester 2, our plan is to have more on-site teaching, in line with public health and safety advice guidelines, where students and staff can meet in a face-to-face manner. Other courses have been designed in a fully online manner and will remain so for the entire year.

Course content is available in a self-instructional, interactive format. Live teaching webinars and questions and answers sessions (synchronous), will be coupled with other asynchronous learning activities which students can undertake in their own time. The Centre has been providing blended and online learning courses for adult learners over 20 years, so no matter what mode of delivery is on offer for your course this academic year, our administrative and teaching staff are well positioned to support you in your learning journey.

Visit our online learning section for more information and check out our COVID-19 FAQ webpage for further updates.

We are looking forward to welcoming our first year students in September for orientation and course commencement and also our returning students who are continuing their studies at NUI Galway.
