Dr Leonardo Franchiis a member of the School of Education at the University of Glasgow. He was Director of Catholic Teacher Education at the University of Glasgow from 20122016. Leonardo is a member of the Executive of the Association for Catholic Colleges and Institutes of Education (ACISE), the sectorial branch of the International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU) and from 2015-2018 sat on the Executive of the Scottish Catholic Education Service (SCES). Dr Franchi’s principal research interests are in the nature of Religious Education and initial teacher education/formation. He has an MA in Modern Languages, an MEd in Religious Education/Catechesis and PhD in Religious Education. His latest book, Shared Mission: Religious Education in the Catholic Tradition, was published in 2017 and he is currently working on a history of teacher education. Dr Franchi has published articles in scholarly journals on a wide range of topics in the field of Catholic education.
