St. Angela's Making The News

St. Angela's Making The News

We can’t seem to keep St. Angela’s out of the news these days. Read the fantastic article in the Irish Times featuring staff and ex-students exploring How We Respond to Disability

We’ll soon be represented on screen and look forward to seeing Peter Kearns debuting in an upcoming comedy pilot for BBC. The Irish Film Board are currently promoting the region to Film and TV productions and visited (and loved) the college as a potential film location our little campus may make it to Hollywood yet!

Meanwhile some of our students’ hard work from last year have been recognised,  Elaine Molloy and Lisa Butler have been highly commended in the Undergraduate Awards in their respective specialisms (Business and Nursing/Midwifery).

4th year B. Applied Science student, Hugh Maguire has been tasting success with his smoked black pudding that he developed with his father, and together they went on to win the Great Taste Awards in London, which has been featured in the national and regional press.

Dr. John Callaghan has contributed to the Atlas of the Irish Revolution(Cork University Press) which is receiving rave reviews and is expected to be the best-selling book in Ireland this season.

And although he didn’t make the newspapers, we welcome back our librarian Nick O’Sullivan after his ‘extreme sports’ misadventure.
