St. Angela's Fashion students on RTÉ Nationwide

Students from the Textiles, Fashion and Design with Business Management course were pleased to be represented on Nationwide, talking about being finalists in the Goldenegg Fashion Innovation Awards 2016 and why they chose the Textiles, Fashion and Design with Business Management course at St. Angela’s College. Three students Emma Curtis, Roseanne McNamee and Jade Reidy were chosen as finalists to represent St. Angela’s College in the ‘Student Designer of the Year Colleges’ category. They were placed along 5 other colleges across Ireland, which included, Limerick School of Art and Design (LSAD), Galway Technical Institute (GTI), National College of Art and Design (NCAD), University of Ulster and Griffith College.
The competition was open to students currently enrolled on a fashion design course at a recognised college in Ireland. Galway City played host to the glamorous Goldenegg Irish Fashion Innovation Awards again this year, with the ceremony taking place on Thursday 10 March 2016 at the Radisson Blu Hotel.
The Goldenegg Irish Fashion Innovation Awards was sponsored by Hartmanns of Galway, Brown Thomas, Local Enterprise Office Galway, GALWAYnow Magazine and The Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa. The prestigious Awards give visibility, support and a voice to young design talent throughout Ireland, offering a fantastic opportunity for their work to be shown to a jury made up of fashion design experts.
Emma Curtis was also a finalist in the Kerry Fashion Week -Student Designer competition, noted as the most prestigious fashion awards in Ireland. Emma chose to enter her Mini Degree collection that she also entered in the Dublin Fashion Festival competition, of which she was also a finalist.
Roseanne McNamee was also chosen as a finalist in the DCU Fashion Show that took place in the Helix on the 9th March.
