BA in Textiles, Fashion and Design with Business Management application<br>DEADLINE is February 1st!
The BA in Textiles, Fashion and Design with Business Management is a full-time honours degree programme which combines textiles, fashion and design studies with business management and marketing. The course aims to meet the needs of students who have a strong interest in textiles, fashion and design and wish to study artistic, theoretical and technical aspects of textiles and fashion design in a stimulating environment while also acquiring a sound mastery of the knowledge base of business management.
This is the third year of this dynamic and unique course and it is the first programme in Ireland where students can study fashion, textiles and design along with much needed business management. The course lecturers have significant expertise in the fashion industry. Sligo based designers Rebecca Marsden (www.rebeccamarsdendesigns.com) and Anna Vahey (www.anafaye.com) both lecture on the programme.
Students of the course have already been making their mark. Second year student Emma Curtis was one of 12 students in Ireland featured in the prestigious Dublin Fashion Weeks ‘Young Designer of the Year’ competition 2015. Two other students Katleen Amazonas and Roseanne Mc Namee are currently competing in the Wedding Journal’s ‘Young Designer of the Year’ 2016. Their wedding dresses will be showcased at the Wedding Journal Shows in Dublin (9th and 10th January), Cork (16th and 17th January) and Belfast (29th to 31st January).
The BA in Textiles, Fashion and Design with Business Management is on the CAO form (CAO code: AS053 (Level 8)) for entry in September 2016. The course is a restricted entry programme and therefore applications must be made by February 1st 2016 through the CAO and a portfolio must be submitted by April 15th 2016.
