This Level 7 Certificate in Specialist Sewing for Medical Implant Technology is an accelerated 8 week programme that provides participants with specialised skills of high precision, technical stitching for a range of medical implant technology components, in particular for structural heart/heart valve technologies.

Throughout the programme precision practical sewing skills will be developed and underpinned with relevant knowledge and experience to enable graduates to be readily employed as specialist stitch operatives in a cleanroom environment in this highly specialised and growing segment of the medical technology sector.

This Certificate course was designed and developed with the support of the IDA and Department of Social Protection who have identified specialist sewing for medical technology as a key growth area for employment in the West and North West.

We are delighted that twenty places on the programme have been fully funded through the Higher Education Authority Springboard+ Programme. The programme will be delivered with the specialist expertise of lecturers in the Textiles Team at St Angela's College, Sligo.
