Post-graduate Diploma in Special Educational Needs (Autistic Spectrum Disorders) 2013-2014

Post-graduate Diploma in Special Educational Needs (Autistic Spectrum Disorders) 2013-2014

On Monday 16th September we welcomed the new cohort of students on the Certificate/Diploma in Special Educational Needs (Autistic Spectrum Disorders). These teachers came from primary, post-primary and special school settings nationwide. They will complete a range of courses in their local areas together with associated assessments over the next one or two year time period. The programme has gone from strength to strength in the past number of years and in his opening address Mr. Eugene Toolan, Head of Education, referred to the report of Dr. Nick Hodge, External Examiner of the programme, who stated : ‘I was delighted to be able to see the students engaging with their practice; they are delighted with the course and the innovative nature of their activities illustrated the impact of their studies on improving the learning experiences for pupils on the autism spectrum. The programme of study is an excellent model of working between St Angela's, TES and SESS. All parties are very involved in the development of the modules and this results in a first class experience for students.
