Nursing student receives Health Research Board Summer Scholarship

Bachelor of Nursing Science student Mary Mc Goldrick was recently awarded a Health Research Board Summer Scholarship, a national programme for undergraduate students in health-related disciplines to support their participation in research during the summer months. The purpose of the scholarships is to encourage an interest in research and to give a student the opportunity to become familiar with research techniques. Under the scholarship based at St Angela's College, Sligo, Mary Mc Goldrick will be supervised by Mary Cooke, lecturer in the Department of Nursing and Health Studies investigating the title: “An Exploration of the Concept and Application of Home Care in Ireland.”
The College extends congratulations to Mary Mc Goldrick on the achievement: 'This opens further opportunities for nationally-recognised research within the Department of Nursing and Health Studies and across the College.' notes Dr Michele Glacken, Head of the Department of Nursing and Health Studies.
