The first group of students from the Certificate in Fashion Design and Entrepreneurship have just had their end of year photo shoot in the grounds of St Angela’s College. During the year long course the students have completed various projects which have culminated in a design portfolio accompanied by sketch books, pattern blocks and a complete ensemble based on their project brief. Participants have become competent in researching, developing and constructing garment designs to meet a project brief; building and presenting a collection and   developing and refining their business expertise with the skills necessary to launch and manage new ventures/products for their chosen niche area.

One of this year’s students Sinead Carr says: “I’ve started designing my own collection at home and I also plan to move into a 500 square foot studio. I’m very excited about my new venture….The entrepreneurial element of the course has been a big help. I plan to set up my own business.”
