Academic Incorporation Administrator
Position Duration: 18 Months

St. Angela’s College, Sligo, are recruiting for an Academic Incorporation Administrator who will work in the area of the ongoing project of incorporation in to NUI Galway.




The post will include, but will not be limited to, the following duties:


  • To provide the Incorporation Office with a comprehensive and professional administrative and support service including but not limited to work associated with AKARI.
  • To assist in preparing reports, correspondence and other documents as necessary and providing administrative support for meetings and taking minutes when required. 
  • Responding to queries and requests for information in a professional, courteous and timely manner. Responding to queries and requests for information in a professional, courteous and timely manner.
  • Providing the highest quality standards in customer service when dealing with the public, stakeholders and internal staff whilst acting on feedback and reporting to line management.
  • Taking ownership of assigned tasks and prioritising competing tasks in order to ensure that they are completed on time and to a high standard with excellent attention to detail.
  • At all times working efficiently using own initiative and as part of a team in delivering services. Checking work thoroughly to ensure it is completed accurately and to a high standard. To undertake other appropriate duties assigned by line management.
  • Maintain own knowledge of relevant College Policies and Procedures and own area of responsibility.   Person Specification:


Relevant third level qualification;

  • Excellent Microsoft Office experience essential (including Outlook, Excel, Word and Access, Notepad ++, XML) and analytical skills in the management of data (ECDL qualification preferred);
  • High level of commitment and a flexible approach to work;
  • An innovative approach to the development of good work practices;
  • An ability to handle multiple tasks and to work to strict deadlines;
  • Discretion in handling confidential information;
  • Enthusiastic with excellent organisational and attention to detail skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal, spoken and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work on own initiative, and as part of a team;
  • Highly professional, presentable and personable





The salary scale corresponding to the post is the Permanent Whole-time Secretary Scale €25,964 - €39,794.


Please note that new recruits to the Public Sector must start at the first point of the scale; we cannot give any guarantees that prior private service will be able to be recognised.
