Part Time Administrator (0.6 Post)
Position Duration: 9 Months

Main Duties & Responsibilities:


The post will include, but will not be limited to, some or all of the following duties:


In liaison with the Registrar[MCA1] , develop and implement a Quality Assurance (QA) evaluation cycle for timetabling policies and procedures for the College, in particular the Home Economics and Education programmes; As part of this QA timetabling project, develop and manage the operation of the timetabling system for Home Economics and Education programmes, including but not limited to: The collection and input of data from staff from both Departments Exploring timetable issues and systems to ensure the optimum use of the College resources Production and publication of draft timetables for programmes in Home Economics and Education by a defined date. Make necessary changes as required to timetables and room bookings. As part of the QA evaluation, produce management information reports using CELCAT timetable system; Provide support to academic committees within Home Economics and Education as and when required; Engage in an evaluation of, and reporting on, the timetabling processes and products used / developed as part the QA Timetable project; Other such duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Head/s of Department.   Person Specification:


The successful candidate will possess some or all of the following qualifications, knowledge, skills, and attributes:


A relevant qualification to the position; A proven track record in project development / leadership; A demonstrable capacity to evaluate and report on projects and initiatives;

  • A sound understanding of timetabling issues including timetabling software;
  • Excellent Microsoft Office experience essential (including Outlook, Excel, Word and Access, Notepad ++, XML) and analytical skills in the management of data;
  • High level of commitment and a flexible approach to work;
  • Ability to work on own initiative, and as part of a team;
  • An ability to handle multiple tasks and to work to strict deadlines;
  • An innovative approach to the development of good work practices;
  • A demonstrable record in report writing;
  • Discretion in handling confidential information;
  • Enthusiastic with excellent organisational and attention to detail skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal, spoken and written communication skills;
  • Highly professional, presentable and personable.



The salary scale corresponding to the post is €25,964 - €39,794 (Full-Time Equivalent) per annum. This will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.




The post will be based at St. Angela's College, Lough Gill, Sligo and some assignments may require attendance at other sites.
