Clinical Skills ASSISTANT

Head of Nursing, Health Sciences and Disability Studies Department



1-year Fixed Term Contract


Hours of Work:

Part Time, 60% FTE






  • Maintain a safe working environment in the clinical skills laboratory
  • Maintain student attendance records in the clinical skills laboratory
  • Liaise with academic staff to ensure the resources required to facilitate self-directed learning for clinical skills are in place
  • Caretaking and maintenance of clinical skills laboratory equipment
  • Store, clean and maintain equipment as necessary
  • Create the necessary resource materials for simulated learning
  • Ensure the security of the clinical skills laboratory and equipment.
  • Monitor the use of equipment and consumables.
  • Organise the removal or recycling of used and waste materials in keeping with health and safety standards.
  • Set up and clear away equipment for skills teaching sessions
  • Any other duties that the Clinical Manager and/or Head of Department assigns to you.





  • Have experience in a technical  environment with good organisational skills
  • Have some knowledge of the Nursing courses in St Angela’s College
  • Possess good interpersonal skills
  • Be willing to undertake further training as necessary
  • Have a sound knowledge of Health and Safety issues and legislation




  • Salary for the post is based on the relevant salary scale: €519.45 - €598.69 p/wk.




  • The successful candidate will be based in the Department of Nursing and Health Studies at St. Angela's College, Lough Gill, Sligo.
