General Procedures and Regulations for Examinations

The General Procedures and Examinations Regulations document
should be read before attending examinations.

Students must produce their current student I.D. card for inspection during all examinations, failure to do so will result in a €20 fine.

Timetables
Examination timetables are available online approximately 4 weeks before examinations commence. The examination timetable should not be used for planning flights as the timetable may change.

Amendments
When necessary amendments to the timetable will be published on the web site. Please check this link at regular intervals to ensure you have the latest details regarding your exams; it is your responsibility to know when your exams are on.

Temporary Special Needs
The Temporary Special Needs facility is for the use of students who are ill or who have a disability. All students applying for entry to Temporary Special Needs must be authorised by the Student Services Officer or must present a medical certificate to the Exams Office.

Temporary Special Needs does not automatically allocate students extra time. No extra marks are given for sitting exams in Temporary Special Needs. Students will be allocated to rooms with other students who are ill or who have a disability.

The Temporary Special Needs facility takes on the same rules and regulations as the regular exam venue. The invigilators instructions must be followed at all times.

Security Breaches during Exams
Failure to follow Exam Regulations during exams is a security breach. Security breaches include the following:

Writing on your answerbook prior to the exam starting
Having or using notes
Annotations on permitted material
Taking your answerbook out of the exam venue, including unused answerbooks
Leaving the exam venue within the first hour

All exam breaches are serious and will be brought to the attention of the Registrar.

You are bound to read and comply with the Exam Regulations as detailed on the Exams Office web site. Please read these before you sit your exams.

Results
Results may only be disclosed to the student involved and not to anyone else, including family members, in accordance with the Data Protection Act. Also results may not be disclosed over the telephone.

Results will be sent to the candidate’s home address as registered. If this address has changed since you registered, please contact Admissions to rectify same.

Please ensure you have no outstanding monies owing to the Fees Office.
