Undergraduate / Postgraduate Studies Bursary Scheme
2018 / 2019 Academic Year

The 2018-2019 Bursary Scheme is now open to suitably qualified applicants from under-represented groups, providing funding towards programme fees for part-time undergraduate and part-time/ full-time postgraduate programmes offered by the College.
Applications will be accepted from students from the following categories:

  • Applicants with a low family income (less than 39,875 euros)
  • Applicants who attended a DEIS school in the past (please provide evidence)
  • Applicants who are from an ethnic minority (please provide evidence)
  • Applicants with a registered disability which is listed below:
          • Autistic Spectrum Disorder (including Asperger's Syndrome)
          • Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)/Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
          • Blind/Visual Impairment
          • Deaf/Hard of Hearing
          • Mental Health Condition
          • Neurological Condition
          • Neurologically-based Speech, Language or Communication condition
          • Significant Ongoing Illness
          • Physical Disability
          • Developmental Coordination Disorder (Dyspraxia)
          • Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia or Dyscalculia)

Evidence of a verifiable disability can be confirmed by;

  • Completion of form A from this link. This form must be completed by a consultant or a GP detailing evidence provided in a consultant’s report. 


  • Evidence that an applicant is in receipt of a disability allowance


  • Students with specific learning difficulties (e.g. dyslexia) should provide a copy of their most recent report from an educational psychologist, clearly diagnosing a specific learning difficulty.  Applicants with a specific learning difficulty MUST also have two literacy or two numeracy attainment scores at or below the 10th percentile (Standard Score of 81 or below).

Applicants who are completing or already hold an undergraduate award, at the same level as they are applying for, are precluded from applying.
Applicants who already hold a postgraduate level 9 or 10 awards are precluded from applying
Successful candidates will be awarded funding towards one year’s programme fees offered by the College
