Clinical Audit
Course Code: INT43
Entry Requirements:

Applicants will normally be:

A. A Registered Nurse on the Live Register held by An Bord Altranais.

OR

B. Working in a clinical area where they are able to develop skills relevant to their chosen module.

AND

C.Working in the area of Health service/delivery in another capacity such as another health care professional/administrator/ manager or equivalent.

AND HAVE GAINED:

D. A primary degree (min. 2.2, health science related) or evidence of rquivalent academic credits. Students who do not ahve the aforementioned will be required to provide evidence of their ability to study at post-graduate level.

E. Students whose first language is not English will require a degree of fluency i the English language. An overall score of 6.5 i the IELTS Exam (see http://www.ielts.org/ for information on IELTS tests) is required.

 If you have not undertaken formal study for sometime and are concerned regarding your academic study and writing skills, you are strongly advised to undertake the access module (Academic Writing and Learning Skills Module - available through the Centre for Lifelong Learning) prior to attempting any stand alone module.

 

  1. This module may also be relevant to non-clinical health services managers across acute and primary care areas.
  2. Credits from stand alone modules can be accrued towards the award of Post graduate Diploma in Health Sciences (Nursing Studies/Professional Studies or Healthcare Quality Studies).
  3. Many of our stand-alone modules are delivered through blended learning/e-learning allowing you the option of studying at your own pace in your own home

Programme Overview

The aim of this module is to equip students with both the knowledge and skills to both conduct a clinical audit or engage proactively with others in clinical audit in their workplace. Students will be taught how to analyse variances' within the context of quality improvement and clinical governance.

Blended Learning (elearning and College attendance)

Course work & participation in on-line discussions.
Examples of coursework include essays; literature reviews; development of posters; portfolios; group presentations
