Diploma of Applied Science in Food and Business Management (Diploma).

Level:  7

Awarding Body: National University of Ireland, Galway.

Entry Requirements:
  • 70% or higher in High School Examinations.
  • A Laboratory Science subject in final High School Examination (one of Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Equivalent).
  • A score of 6.5 in the IELTS Exam ( for information on IELTS tests) or equivalent English Language score (Cambridge or TOEFL).
  • Completed application form which includes a personal statement (300 words).
  • Two references to support application.

  • Recognised High School Exams.
  • Original academic documentation & experiential records to support application.


Two Academic Years - Full time.

Fees (euro):
  • Students with Academic IELTS 6.5: Non-EU €11,900.00 (2016 rate). 
  • Scholarships available based on academic achievements, English Language Score & Work Experience.
  • Scholarships of up to €2000.00 available.
  • On examination of your academic transcripts, experience and English Language level, St Angela’s College may be in a position to award you a scholarship of €2,000.00 making the total for the degree €9, 900.00 per annum.

Programme Overview

The Diploma of Applied Science Food and Business Management course is aimed at students with a strong interest in food and food product development, nutrition and health and for students who are interested in developing a diverse range of entrepreneurial skills and business intelligence. The course seeks to prepare students with the foundations for working in the food industry. Students who successfully complete the two academic years on the Diploma with satisfactory grades may apply to gain entry to the final two academic years of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Food and Business Management course, including Industrial Placement.
